Elavenil Valarivan got bronze in ISSF Shooting World Cup, 18-year-old shooter won gold medal
India's shooter Elavenil Valarivan won the bronze medal in the women's 10m air rifle final. Elavenil was at the top at one point but then slipped and had to settle for the bronze medal. China's 18-year-old Wang Zhifei won the gold medal with 252.7 points while Korea's Kwon Yunji won the silver medal. Ananya Naidu remained at 15th position.

India's experienced shooter Elavenil Valarivan had to be content with the bronze medal despite leading at one stage of the women's 10m air rifle event on the opening day of competitions during the ISSF World Cup on Tuesday.
Elavenil, aged 25 from India, placed third with 231.2 points. Wang Zhifei of China, who is only 18, claimed the top spot with 252.7 points followed by Korea's Kwon Yunji with silver with 252.6 points.
Elavenil began on 10.7 points and followed with 10.8 points in the next shot. Two-time Olympian Elavenil lagged behind Olympic champion Yunji of Korea by 0.3 points after five attempts. She took the lead with 10.8 points.
Ilavenil was on top with 127.2 points after 12 shots. However, the Indian shooter then slipped to third place with 9.8 points and ultimately had to settle for the bronze medal.
India's national champion, Ananya Naidu, finished 15th with 632.4 points. Ramita Jindal, who was challenging only for ranking points, secured 13th place with 632.6 points.
