Daughter's body kept in salt pit for 44 days: the insistence of the second postmortem

A case of keeping the body of a tribal girl in a salt pit for 44 days has come to light in Nandurbar, Maharashtra. The girl's father had done this work. The father alleges that the daughter was raped before death, but the police called it a suicide.
The fathers insisted that the second postmortem of the daughter should be done, so she did not perform her last rites but buried her in a salt pit to keep the body safe.
After the news came to the media, on September 14, Nandurbar Police reached the spot along with the health team. After that, on the appeal of the family, the police sent the girl's body to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for a second postmortem. Where the second autopsy will be done on Friday.
Shahada Police's Shrikant Ghumre said that so far three suspects Ranjit Thackeray (19), Sunil alias Hana Valvi (21), and Amar alias Gotu Valvi (18) have been arrested in the case.
The girl's family lives in Khadakya village of Dhadgaon taluk in Dongar Rang of Satpura. The family says that the victim had given information about the incident over the phone. According to the family, Ranjit Thackeray and another person from the village forcibly took the girl into the car on August 1 and took her out of the village. The girl had told over the phone that Ranjit and his associates had forced her and they would kill her.
According to the family, after a while, they got another anonymous call. The caller said that his daughter has committed suicide by hanging from a mango tree. The victim's family alleges that before they could reach it, some people tried to destroy the evidence by dragging the girl's body from a tree. His daughter did not commit suicide but was murdered.
