Chittorgarh News: Over seven quintals of doda chura were seized in the second major action against smugglers in just 24 hours

Begu police station of the district made history by making a second big success in 24 hours by taking action against illicit drug smuggling. On Saturday evening, as a part of an action, police recovered over seven quintals of doda chura. The accused smuggler was smuggling the illegal substance under a straw's guise. The police, a day prior to it, recovered over 9 quintals of doda chura.

Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi informed that in accordance with instructions from Police Headquarters, a campaign against illegal drug smuggling in the district was underway. In a series of operations, a police force headed by Begu CI Shivlal Meena Saturday night intercepted a highway parking place in Menal border area along Kota National Highway-27.

During the blockade, a pickup vehicle loaded with wheat straw was seen coming from Ladpura towards Menal. When the police signaled the vehicle to stop, the driver tried to flee with the vehicle but the police team surrounded him from all sides and caught him.

When the straw loaded in the pickup was removed and searched, half-crushed and ground doda chura was recovered in 29 sacks hidden in the back. Its total weight was 6 quintals 98 kg 190 grams. The police seized the illegal doda chura and the pickup vehicle and arrested Banwarilal's son, Rameshwarlal Yadav. The police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act at Begu police station. It is also being investigated from where the said drug was brought and where it was being taken. The accused is being thoroughly questioned about the smuggling network.

It is worth mentioning that a day before this, Begu police had seized 9 quintals 9 kg 590 grams of doda chura during a blockade on the National Highway. In that case, two accused from Bikaner district were arrested.
