Intel India head Nivruti Rai has resigned. He has resigned from his post after a tenure of 29 years. Nivruti started her journey with Intel in February 1994 as a Design Engineer. He also served as head and vice-president of Intel Foundry Services.
In a statement, Intel thanked Nivruti for the "excellent progress" Intel India has made under his leadership. Intel also wished Nivruti all the best for his next chapter. Rai has also done a lot of work for women's empowerment. Rai was awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2022 for her contribution.
Nivruti worked with Intel in the US from 1994 to 2005. In 2005, she shifted to Bangalore. Here his role was that of Senior Director in Chipset Engineering and Intellectual Property Development. This is the second major resignation in Intel's leadership team within a year. In November 2022, Randhir Thakur, President of the company's Foundry Services, left Intel.
Born in November 1969 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, Nivruti is the third daughter of her parents. After marrying Dr. Sunit Tyagi, she moved to the US and earned a BS degree in Mathematics and Operations Research from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York. After this, he took a master's degree in engineering from Oregon State University.
Nivruti was placed at number 19 on Fortune India's list of Most Powerful Women in Business 2019. She became the first NRI to receive Dual Citizenship (OCI) from the Government of India in 2006. Rai has also presented twelve research papers along with the application module. He has also got a patent on five of these.
