Finance Minister to meet CEOs of management firms on a 11 day visit to US-Peru
Nirmala Sitharaman: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is on an 11-day visit to the US and Peru, where she will attend IMF-World Bank meetings and meet investors, NRIs, and finance ministers of other countries. In Peru, she will explore opportunities to increase mining and trade cooperation.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has gone on an 11-day visit to the US and Peru from Sunday. Meanwhile, she will be interacting with CEOs of major fund management firms and participating in the program for Indian immigrants. The Finance Minister will visit San Francisco and Washington, DC from 20 to 25 April.
During her two-day visit to San Francisco, she will deliver a speech on laying the foundation of Developed India 2047 at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. This will be followed by a fireside chat session, i.e., informal conversation. Here, Sitharaman will interact with top CEOs of leading fund management firms during a roundtable meeting with investors and will also hold bilateral meetings with CEOs of top information technology (IT) firms. She will also interact with the Indian community at an event of the Indian diaspora in San Francisco.
After this, during her visit to Washington DC from April 22 to 25, she will also attend the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank comprising seminars, roundtables, press briefings and official meetings on improving the lives of people in developing countries, the second meeting of G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG), Development Committee Plenary, IMFC Plenary and Global Sovereign Debt Roundtable (GSDR) meeting. During the Spring Meetings here, Sitharaman will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts from several countries, including Argentina, Bahrain, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the USA. She will also hold meetings with the European Union Commissioner for Financial Services, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA), and First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF.
