Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury while bowling against Bangladesh during the World Cup 2023. Since then, Hardik Pandya has not yet returned to Team India. Due to injury, Hardik Pandya has not been selected for Team India for the tour of South Africa. A big update has come in the media reports regarding Hardik Pandya's injury. He is being told that he will remain out of the team for the next 18 weeks i.e. about four months. BCCI and NCA have made a special plan of 18 weeks to cure his injury quickly.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India wants Hardik Pandya to be fully fit and available for the team between 2024 and 2026. According to a report by 'News 18', BCCI and National Cricket Academy Bengaluru have made a special plan of 18 weeks to give the best fitness to Hardik Pandya. Under this scheme, their fitness will be assessed daily till March.

In the fourth match played against Bangladesh during the World Cup 2023, Hardik Pandya injured his ankle while bowling. After the injury, Pandya was taken to the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru. But, since then he has not been able to regain fitness yet.
