Australia Announce Squad for Pakistan T20I Series, Marsh Named Captain

Australia has revealed its squad for the three-match T20I series against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Pakistan from January 29th to February 1st. A 17-member squad has been revealed for this tournament, and Pat Cummins, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Josh Hazlewood, and Glenn Maxwell, who were in the T20 World Cup squad, have not been included in this squad. Some of these players have not been available due to injuries, and thus, some new talents have been inducted into the squad.

For this series against Pakistan, new talented players such as fast bowler Mahli Beardman, opening batsman Jack Edwards, and all-rounder Cooper Connolly have been given an opportunity to play. The captain of this team is Mitchell Marsh.

Chief Selector George Bailey has stated that he will give players who have performed well in domestic cricket a chance to add depth to the team ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Star players like Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith, along with injured players, are out of the squad, giving emerging players a valuable warm-up opportunity in Pakistan for the first time since 2022.
