Ashwin Returns to Competitive Cricket, Joins Team India for Hong Kong Sixes
Ravichandran Ashwin, Hong Kong Sixes 2025: Ashwin, who will retire from international cricket in December 2024, had stated when announcing his retirement from the league after IPL 2025 that he wanted to pursue opportunities in global cricket tournaments.



Former Indian cricket team off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will be part of Team India in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025. The tournament will be held at the Kowloon Cricket Club from November 7-9. Ashwin's participation will strengthen India's campaign in this fast-paced, six-a-side global tournament.
Ashwin, who retired from international cricket in December 2024, had stated when announcing his retirement from the league after IPL 2025 that he wanted to pursue opportunities in global cricket tournaments. This will be R Ashwin's first competitive tournament since his IPL retirement. Regarding playing in the Hong Kong Sixes, Ashwin said, "We all watched this tournament on television as children. I always wanted to be a part of it."
"This format requires a different strategy and will prove to be extremely exciting, and I'm looking forward to playing with my former teammates. I'm also excited to compete against some of the best players from the opposition teams. It will be a good challenge for us," Ashwin said on Thursday. This exciting tournament was revived in 2024 after a seven-year hiatus. Ashwin's inclusion in the upcoming season will further boost its popularity.
