Ashok Leyland Launches All-Female Production Line at Hosur Manufacturing Plant

Ashok Leyland, a leading manufacturer of large commercial vehicles, has launched a new production line at its Hosur manufacturing plant that will produce engines entirely staffed by female workers. The move, which is aimed at empowering women and encouraging them to work in the industrial sector, has been initiated with 80 female workers at the Hinduja Group's main business.
The company's CEO, Shenu Agarwal, highlighted the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, stating that "we've been giving everyone the same opportunity regardless of gender and race". She added that providing women with such opportunities would not only improve their lives but also those of their families and communities.
Agarwal also said that the company's decision to establish an all-female production line was part of their brand concept of "Koi Manzil Door Nahin" or "no place is far distant." She added that the initiative was in line with the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive environment and building a better gender balance.
Ashok Leyland has reportedly made significant investments to upskill and employ these women, providing them with core production training. The company's decision to implement an all-women manufacturing line is part of its broader effort to create a more diversified workforce and promote gender equality in the workplace.
