Airfares increased by 9% in January-March, premium class bookings increased by 20%

With strong growth in the economy and rapid travel, the average airfare in the country increased by 9% during January-March this year. According to FCM Travel, premium class bookings have increased by 20% compared to a year ago.

Premium travel now attracts a slightly higher price tag from business travelers. This has led to a surge in premium reservations as well. International air capacity has grown by 14% over the same period, partly attributable to the expansion of India's aviation industry. Still, there has been a fifteen percent decrease in the average foreign fare.
1.32 crore passengers flew within the country in April of this year exclusively. In the years 2023–2024, over 15 crore individuals travelled. This number is predicted to rise even more quickly in the current fiscal year under such circumstances.
