Indian cricket team's explosive opening batsman Abhishek Sharma is creating a new record in each and every T20 match. Breaking Yuvraj Singh's previous record for the fastest half-century against Pakistan in the last match, Abhishek broke another record of Yuvraj's against Bangladesh.

During the Asia Cup Super Four game against Bangladesh at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Abhishek made a half-century off 25 balls. It was the fifth time in T20 internationals that Abhishek had made a half-century off 25 balls or fewer. He surpassed Yuvraj Singh in the record. Yuvraj Singh has made half-centuries in 25 balls or fewer four times in international T20s.

Suryakumar Yadav has scored the most half-centuries in 25 balls or less for India, with seven. Former captain Rohit Sharma is in second place, having achieved this feat six times. Abhishek Sharma is in third place. These figures are calculated by combining half-centuries and centuries.

Abhishek scored 75 runs off 37 balls against Bangladesh. He hit five sixes and six fours in this innings. Disappointingly, he was run out. Abhishek, who made his international T20 debut in July 2024, has so far scored 783 runs in 21 innings of 22 matches, including four half-centuries and two centuries. His highest score is 135, the highest by any Indian in T20s. Abhishek has not yet made his debut in ODIs or Tests. However, the way he is batting is impressive. Looking at him, it seems that he may soon get a chance in the ODI format.
