Xiaomi Confirms 17 Ultra Launch Date, Promises Big Leap in Low-Light Photography
Xiaomi is soon launching its new flagship 5G phone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. This device will launch in China on December 25th. It will feature a 200MP camera and Leica branding. The phone will feature a 50MP primary camera with a 1-inch OmniVision OV50X sensor. This Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be the company's thinnest Ultra model.

The release date of this smartphone was announced on Monday through social media platforms. This new smartphone is expected to be the successor to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and will be released as the flagship smartphone within the new Xiaomi 17 series.
Also, ahead of the launch, the design features of the upcoming phone have been revealed by the company. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has some design similarities with the previous version, such as the round camera design located at the center of the back panel.
The company posted on Weibo that the new Xiaomi 17 Ultra will launch this week on December 25th at 4:30 PM IST. The device will be unveiled at the Xiaomi x Leica Imaging Strategic Cooperation Upgrade event. While the company has kept many details under wraps, there are indications that the company has made a "big leap" in low-light photography and a new telephoto optical system.
A teaser image of the phone shows the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in black and white color options. The phone's design appears similar to the 15 Ultra, with a large camera island occupying most of the back. Leica branding is visible within the deco on the handset. Furthermore, the company has also given a first glimpse of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra's Starry Sky Green color option.

According to reports, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1-inch OmniVision OV50X sensor and a Leica-branded 200MP periscope telephoto lens. Notably, the phone is expected to be just 8.29mm thick, making the Xiaomi 17 Ultra the company's thinnest Ultra model yet.
