WhatsApp’s Upcoming Update to Make Profiles More Personal and Expressive
Meta: Meta is rolling out a new feature to the messaging app WhatsApp. This feature will allow users to set a Facebook-like cover photo. The feature is currently in beta testing, but it may be rolled out to general users soon.
Meta continuously adds new features to its messaging app WhatsApp. The company is currently testing a feature to enable users to add a Facebook-style cover photo. The feature is at present in beta testing but could be made available to standard users shortly.
Previous to this, WhatsApp users had only been able to add a profile image, but in the latest update, users will be able to add a cover image as well. This feature will be available in the profile settings, where users can choose any cover image of their choice. According to reports, the cover photo will appear above the profile picture and will be quite large and wide in size. Users will be able to choose to show it to everyone, only their contacts, or no one at all. This setting will be located under the Privacy tab.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, this feature is currently available to WhatsApp Android beta users. It is currently in internal testing, but it may be released as a public beta for more users in the coming weeks. It's worth noting that WhatsApp Business Profiles already have a cover photo feature, which is now being rolled out to general users.
