Meta's photo and video sharing platform Instagram has announced that it will limit sensitive content to new teen users on the platform by default. Instagram said the sensitive content controls have only two options for teens - Standard and Less . The platform said in a blog post that new teens under the age of 16 on Instagram will be defaulted to "less status". For teens already on Instagram, we'll send a prompt to encourage them to opt for the 'less' experience.
It added that this would make it more difficult for youth to see potentially sensitive content or accounts in Search, Explore, hashtag pages, reels, feed recommendations, and suggested accounts.
