Honor Magic V Flip: Clamshell foldable smartphone launched, equipped with powerful chipset

The foldable smartphone is priced at CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 57,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage version. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs. 64,000), while the 12GB + 1TB variant will set you back by CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 70,000). It is offered in Camellia White, Champagne Pink, and Iris Black shades. All models are currently available for pre-order in China and will go on sale starting June 21.

Honor Magic V Flip specifications:

• Display: It has a 6.8-inch primary full-HD+ (1,080x2,520 pixels) LTPO OLED internal display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 3,000 nits peak brightness. The Dolby Vision-certified panel supports 3840Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming.
• Processor: The Honour Magic V Flip is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and up to 16GB of RAM.
• Camera: The new smartphone has a dual rear camera unit that combines a 50-megapixel primary camera with f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle macro camera with f/2.2 aperture and autofocus. There is a 50MP Sony IMX816 selfie camera for selfies and video calls.
• Connectivity: Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, USB OTG, and a USB Type-C connector. It features two speakers and three microphones.
• Battery and Charging: The Honour Magic V Flip features a 4,800mAh battery that supports 66W rapid charging. The battery is also supposed to charge from 0 to 100 percent in 42 minutes.
• Other Features: The device includes an accelerometer, compass, gyro sensor, gravity sensor, and proximity light sensor. For authentication, the phone incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Honour Magic V Flip dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone runs MagicOS 8.0, which is based on Android 14.
