Supreme Court refuses urgent hearing on Uddhav faction's petition, appeal has been made against EC's decision

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to give an urgent hearing on a petition by the Uddhav Thackeray faction. The Uddhav faction of the Shiv Sena has appealed against the Election Commission's decision to recognize the Eknath Shinde-led faction and give it the bow and arrow symbol.
Advocate Amit Anand Tiwari, appearing for the Uddhav faction, mentioned the matter for urgent hearing before a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. The petition said that the Election Commission did not disqualify the rebel MLAs under the Tenth Schedule. On the contrary, the status and election symbol of the original party was given to the newly formed party.
On this, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra, who was included in the bench, said that wait for the constitution bench of Jammu and Kashmir to end and we will give you the date. It is noteworthy that a five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Chandrachud is hearing the matter of removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. In this case, a regular hearing is to be held five days a week from August 2.
