Recently Bollywood's Anna Sunil Shetty gave a statement on the rising prices of tomatoes. His statement had created a controversy on social media. The actor was trolled very badly on social media. Now recently Sunil Shetty has presented his clarification in this whole matter and apologized to the farmers.
Now, in a recent interview given to a media portal, Sunil Shetty, while talking about the growing negativity on social media regarding the 'tomato' statement, said that his statement has been distorted in the wrong way. The actor said, “I really support our farmers. I cannot even think of having any negative connotation for them.
I have always worked with his support. I want to promote our indigenous products and want that our farmers will always benefit from them. I have my own hotel, so farmers are a very important part of my life, I have always had a direct connection with them".
Talking further, Sunil Shetty apologized to the farmers. He said, "If anyone has been hurt by any of my statements, which I haven't said, I sincerely apologize to them. I can't think of talking negative enough about them, not even in my wildest dreams." No. Don't misrepresent my statement. I can't say much more in this matter".
Expressing his views on the rising prices of tomatoes, Sunil Shetty said, "We eat fresh things. The way tomato prices are skyrocketing, it has also affected our kitchen. I rarely eat tomatoes". As soon as this statement of his went viral, the farmers condemned him.
