Preparation to implement theater command, CDS Chauhan said - all three armies should create a culture of working together

Preparations are underway to integrate the armed forces under theater command. CDS General Anil Chauhan has said that the formation of theater command is to take military preparedness to the next step. Speaking at an event, CDS General Anil Chauhan said that the three services need to develop a culture of working together. He said that the formation of theater command will not be final but it is just the beginning of military reforms.

Under the theater command, there will be integration of the three commands of the Army, Army, Air Force, and Navy. Along with this, there will also be things like multi-domain operations, increasing importance of space and cyberspace, digitalization, and visualization of the battlefield. CDS General Anil Chauhan said these things during his address at Major General Sameer Sinha Memorial Lecture. He said that under Jointness 1.0, mutual understanding has been increased among the three commands. Now under Jointness 2.0, the emphasis is on developing a joint work culture in the three armies. The CDS said that 'We must be able to get the best of each service, and focus on the highest common factor rather than settling for the lowest common denominator.'

Under the integration of the armed forces, each theater command will have units of the Army, Air Force, and Navy and all three units will work together in a certain geographical area. At present the three commands of the army work separately. With this, the pardons of the three armies will also be fully utilized. CDS said that with the formation of theater command, operational commanders will be able to focus only on security challenges and will be separated from administrative work. CDS said that today countries around the world are facing challenges, in such a situation there is a need to improve the Indian defense ecosystem and review its security challenges. The increasing interference of technology has changed the battles of the future.
