NEET UG 2024: Supreme Court orders NTA to release the result again, marking 4 lakh students will be affected

The petitions, filed regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – UG, 2024 examination, were heard yesterday and today by the bench of Country Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Mishra. Following this argument, the bench of the Supreme Court has dismissed conducting the test once more. While announcing the judgment, the apex court had said that since there is no concrete evidence of paper leaks across the country, all 24 lakh students have to bear the brunt of suffering the consequences of conducting the exam again, due to which the exam cannot be conducted again.

Along with this, the Supreme Court, in its decision, justified option 4 of a question of Quantum Physics and asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to declare the result again. Due to the release of the results again, there will be a change in the marking of 4 lakh students.

During the hearing on Monday, the Supreme Court bench had ordered to submit the response of NTA on the correct answer of question number 19 by Tuesday. Regarding this question, the Supreme Court had received the report of three people constituted by ITI Delhi, in which answer 4 of the question was considered correct. Now regarding this, the CJI has asked NTA to release the result again.
