Bengal Teacher recruitment scam: Special CBI officer will join the investigation of the scam, High Court orders

Calcutta High Court Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay on Wednesday directed to include a special CBI officer in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the central agency probing the teacher recruitment scam in Bengal. The name of the officer is Snehangshu Biswas. He is currently posted in New Delhi. Justice Gangopadhyay observed that Vishwas is an experienced investigator.

Therefore his experience in this matter can be used to accelerate the recruitment scam. He directed the CBI officials to direct Vishwas to reach Kolkata by October 20 and become part of the investigation team in the case.

Justice Gangopadhyay also said that he should not be transferred out of the agency's Kolkata office until the investigation is completed. The justice also directed the CBI to submit a report on the progress of the investigation in the case after the Durga Puja holidays. He said that the officials of the investigating agency should submit the details in this regard in a sealed envelope. The next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for November 29.
