Illegal goods worth more than Rs 100 crore were seized on Thursday at two major airports in the country. In this, the Customs Department recovered 7 watches from the smugglers from Dubai from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi. Their cost is 28 crores. One of these watches is from Jacob & Co. It is studded with diamonds. Its cost is 27 crores. On the other hand, 16 kg of heroin was seized at the Mumbai airport. Its cost is estimated at Rs 80 crore.
IGI Airport Customs Commissioner Zubair Riaz Kamili said that one of the watches recovered belonged to a Rolex company. A bracelet and iPhone have also been seized. The passenger had reached Delhi from Dubai to deliver these goods. No documents related to the goods were found from him. That's why he has been arrested.
Zubair Riaz told that the accused has a showroom of expensive watches in Dubai. There are also showroom branches in many cities of the UAE. According to the commissioner, the accused had come to Delhi to deliver to a high-profile client. The client is a resident of Gujarat.
