Maruti Suzuki, the leading automaker offering vehicles across multiple segments in the Indian market, is all set to launch its first electric vehicle today.

Maruti will launch its first electric SUV, the e-Vitara, today. According to media reports, the SUV has been spotted testing several times prior to its launch.

This SUV will come with several great features from the manufacturer. Some of those are expected to be a panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, ventilated front seats, LED headlights and taillights, ambient lighting, and dual-tone interiors. In terms of safety, the manufacturer is expected to provide seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and Level 2 ADAS.

The E Vitara will be equipped with a 61 kWh battery pack, which is expected to deliver a range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge. The battery is made from 120 lithium-ion-based cells, which can operate in both extreme temperatures and extreme temperatures.

The manufacturer officially unveiled the SUV at the Auto Expo in January 2025, but no formal information regarding its launch was provided at that time.

The manufacturer will only announce the exact price after the launch. However, it is expected that this SUV will be launched in India at an ex-showroom price of around ₹16 lakh.

The Maruti E Vitara will be positioned in the mid-size electric SUV segment. In this segment, it will compete directly with electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG Windsor, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and Tata Harrier EV.
