India’s Pharma Exports Cross $28 Billion, Show Strong Growth Despite Global Challenges
Indian Pharma: Indian pharmaceutical exports have reached over $28 billion by February of FY26. Read on to learn more about the figures.
The Indian Government has confirmed that their pharmaceuticals exports have exceeded US$28 billion in value through February this fiscal year. This is an increase of five percent compared to the previous year's exports.
According to K. Raja Bhanu, the Director-General of Pharmexcil, the industry's current market value is estimated at $60 billion and is projected to rise to $130 billion by 2030.
He said, "Despite global challenges, pharmaceutical exports have been one of the few sectors that have maintained their growth momentum. During the April-February period of FY2026, pharmaceutical exports stood at US$28.29 billion, an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the same period of FY2025. Formulations, biologicals, vaccines, and AYUSH products contributed significantly to this growth."

The official further said that despite global price pressures and trade volatility, exports reached US$30.47 billion in FY2024-25, an increase of 9.4 percent compared to the previous year.
