The Indian Government has confirmed that their pharmaceuticals exports have exceeded US$28 billion in value through February this fiscal year. This is an increase of five percent compared to the previous year's exports.

According to K. Raja Bhanu, the Director-General of Pharmexcil, the industry's current market value is estimated at $60 billion and is projected to rise to $130 billion by 2030.

He said, "Despite global challenges, pharmaceutical exports have been one of the few sectors that have maintained their growth momentum. During the April-February period of FY2026, pharmaceutical exports stood at US$28.29 billion, an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the same period of FY2025. Formulations, biologicals, vaccines, and AYUSH products contributed significantly to this growth."
