India's exports increased by 6.7 percent to $ 35.1 billion in August. During this period, imports decreased by 10.12 percent to $ 61.59 billion. This was said in the official figures released on Monday.

Exports stood at US$32.89 billion and imports at US$68.53 billion in August last year. The trade deficit during August 2025 was US$26.49 billion ,as against US$35.64 billion in the same month a year ago.

During April-August 2025-26, exports stood at US$184.13 billion, while imports stood at US$306.52 billion. Briefing the media about the figures, Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal said that despite global and trade policy uncertainties, India's exporters have performed very well.
