Hizbul Mujahideen's top commander Bashir Ahmed killed: 2 assailants shot dead; Was standing near a shop after offering Namaz
Hizbul Mujahideen's top commander Bashir Ahmad Peer was killed on Monday in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The assailant shot Peer outside a shop in Rawalpindi, killing him. He was declared a terrorist on October 4 last year for his involvement in terrorist activities. Peer was involved in several online activities to unite ex-militants to front organizations like Hizbul Mujahideen, and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Basheer had gone to the mosque near his house to offer prayers. After coming out of the mosque, he stood near a shop. Meanwhile, two assailants came on a bike and shot and killed Bashir.
Bashir Ahmed was also known as Imtiaz Alam. It had a hand in carrying out many terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. He used to carry out terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir under the code names of Haji, Pir and Imtiaz. Basheer was living in Rawalpindi for the last few years. The Government of Pakistan had given him citizenship of his country.
ISI had entrusted Basheer with the task of infiltrating terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. He was involved in reactivating former terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Jammu and Kashmir. He was constantly inciting people against Kashmir through the internet.
