Heavy rain alert in many districts including Jhalawar, heavy rain in Jaipur late night
Rajasthan Monsoon Update: Heavy rain warning has been issued in Jhalawar, Kota and Baran in Rajasthan today. On Friday, seven children died due to the collapse of the school roof due to rain in Jhalawar. Apart from this, reports of rain-related accidents kept coming from many parts of the state.

Heavy to very heavy rain alert has been issued in 9 districts of the state today. In this, very heavy rain warning has been issued in Jhalawar, Kota and Baran and heavy rain warning in the rest. The low-pressure system which was developed in the Bay of Bengal, having become strong and converted into a Wellmark low-pressure system, is now stronger and has been converted into a depression. The impact of this system will be felt in the south-eastern part of Rajasthan from Saturday. Due to its effect, an orange alert has been issued in 3 districts and a yellow alert in 6 districts on Saturday.
Expecting heavy to very heavy rains in most areas in the coming three days, red and orange alerts have been given in the districts of the said divisions. Heavy rains are expected in most areas of Rajasthan. Radheshyam Sharma, Director of Meteorological Center Jaipur said - This system is moving towards the north-west. This system has now shifted beyond Orissa-Jharkhand. Owing to the impact of this system, heavy rains are expected in most areas of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh as well as Rajasthan. The greatest impact in Rajasthan would be between 27 to 29 July. Throughout this period, there can be a chance of extremely heavy rains in some districts of Kota, Udaipur division. In view of this, the administration has issued an alert.
During the last 24 hours in Rajasthan, light to moderate rains occurred in the areas of Jaipur, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Baran. The highest rainfall of 25MM was recorded in Chaksu area near the capital Jaipur. Less than 10MM rainfall was recorded in the areas of Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh. In this monsoon season, Rajasthan has received 98% more rainfall than the average. Normally, the state receives an average rainfall of 174MM from June 1 to July 24, whereas this season, 344.2MM rainfall has been recorded so far.
On the other hand, people are dying in rain-related accidents in the state. The wall of Shergarh Fort collapsed due to rain in Dholpur. On the other hand, the driver died when a tractor-trolley fell into a closed stone mine in Nagla Chhatri Singhania village of Bharatpur district. In Sawai Madhopur, a youth drowned in the Banas river while making reels. The youth has been identified as Chandu (19), son of Ramswaroop Khatik. SDRF teams are busy on the spot to find the youth. So far, SDRF has rescued more than 300 people in rain-related accidents in the state.
