The Meteorological Department states that the formation of a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal has caused the monsoon to become active again in Rajasthan. Over the past 24 hours, light rain was recorded in the southern regions of Rajasthan. It is now estimated that over the next 4 to 5 days, the monsoon will be gentle to the Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions. Additionally, light rain is forecasted in parts of Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Bikaner divisions.
The Jaipur Meteorological Center has issued a forecast indicating heavy rain in Rajasthan over the coming days. There is a possibility of very heavy rain in Dungarpur, Sirohi, and Udaipur. Furthermore, on August 20, a warning of very heavy rain has been issued for South Rajasthan.
In the last 24 hours until 8:30 am on Saturday, rainfall included 7 cm in Gogunda of Udaipur, 6 cm in Dewal of Dungarpur, 6 cm in Pahadi of Bharatpur, 5 cm in Gangdhar of Jhalawar, 5 cm in Nathdwara of Rajsamand, 5 cm in Kumbhalgarh, and 4 cm in several other locations. The highest rainfall of 70 mm was recorded in Bali (Pali).
The lack of rain has led to rising temperatures across the state. The highest temperature recorded was 40.5 degrees Celsius in Barmer, while the lowest was 24.0 degrees Celsius in Pratapgarh.
