Gold Crosses ₹1.3 Lakh Mark for First Time in Delhi; Silver Hits ₹1.85 Lakh Ahead of Dhanteras

On Tuesday, Gold prices in the national capital's bullion market increased by ₹2,850, crossing the ₹1.3 lakh per 10-gram mark for the first time, driven by heavy festive buying by retailers and jewelers ahead of Dhanteras. According to the All India Sarafa Association, the price of 99.9 percent pure gold rose by ₹2,850 to a record high of ₹1,30,800 per 10 grams (including all taxes), compared to the previous close of ₹1,27,950.

Meanwhile, gold of 99.5 percent purity rose by ₹2,850 to a new record high of ₹1,30,200 per 10 grams, compared to its previous closing price of ₹1,27,350 per 10 grams. Silver also saw a jump of ₹6,000. On Tuesday, silver reached an all-time high of ₹1,85,000 per kilogram (including all taxes), marking its fifth consecutive day of gains.

It had closed at ₹1,79,000 per kilogram in the previous market session. Traders attributed the sharp rise in bullion prices to sustained demand from jewelers and retailers ahead of the festive and wedding season, as well as the rupee's weakness against the dollar on Tuesday, which fell 12 paise to an all-time low of 88.80.
