From Rain to Chill: Rajasthan Set for a Drop in Temperature as Northern Winds Take Over
Following a western disturbance, the weather in Rajasthan will remain dry. The cold northern winds will cause temperatures to drop by 2-3 degrees. Sirohi was the coldest district. The cold will intensify in Jaipur, Bikaner, and Shekhawati in the next 48 hours.
It will be dry in Rajasthan from today (Wednesday) as northern winds will blow across the state, which will reduce the mercury and intensify the cold. Isolated districts of the state saw cloudiness due to an active western disturbance on November 4th. Several areas received rain and a hailstorm. Strong winds blew in Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts, whereas light rain increased the chill further. During the last 24 hours, several districts, including Jaipur, Hanumangarh, Churu, Ganganagar, Kota, Karauli, Baran, and Ajmer, remained covered with cloud cover. Afternoon, Hanumangarh and Churu experienced rain with strong winds, while scattered places in Hanumangarh saw small hail.
On November 4, the day temperature in Kota dropped by 4 degrees to 28.7°C. In Jaipur, the temperature dropped by 4.8 degrees to 28°C. Alwar recorded 29.8°C, Ajmer 28°C, Baran 27.4°C, Dungarpur 26.2°C, Karauli 26.5°C, Dausa 28.1°C, Pratapgarh 28.9°C, Jhunjhunu 27.4°C, Pali 28.5°C, Ganganagar 32.7°C, Hanumangarh 30.9°C, Jodhpur 31.3°C, Jaisalmer 34.1°C and Bikaner 33.8°C. Sirohi recorded a maximum day temperature of only 23.5°C, the coldest in the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of the western disturbance is now ending, and cold, icy winds will start blowing from the north. This will cause temperatures to drop in cities across Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, and western Uttar Pradesh. The effect of northerly winds will increase in Rajasthan starting late Wednesday night. Minimum temperatures may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next 24 to 48 hours. In addition to the Shekhawati region, night temperatures will drop, and the effects of winter will be felt in districts in the Bikaner, Bharatpur, and Jaipur divisions.
