Dense Fog Grips Northwest Rajasthan, Day Temperatures Drop by Up to 7°C

Dense fog has been felt in the northwestern districts of Rajasthan, causing daytime temperatures to drop by 5 to 7 degrees Celsius in several areas, including Barmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Churu, and Nagaur. Northerly winds have also caused a slight drop in minimum temperatures. According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, light to moderate fog, with occasional dense fog, is expected to persist in the northwestern districts of the state today. Furthermore, temperatures are expected to drop further in the coming days due to the influence of northerly winds, which will exacerbate the cold. Over the past 24 hours, dense fog has been recorded in areas of Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, and Jhunjhunu. However, due to fog and weak winds, minimum temperatures remained above normal in most cities across the state, making the morning and evening chills relatively mild.

Minimum temperatures in many cities were recorded up to 6 degrees above normal. On Tuesday, the hill station Mount Abu recorded the lowest night temperature in the state at 5 degrees Celsius. Ajmer recorded a maximum temperature of 28.7 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 12.2 degrees Celsius. Bhilwara recorded temperatures of 28.2 °C and 11°C, while Alwar recorded 25.5 °C and 8.8 °C. Jaipur recorded a maximum of 27.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 14.8 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures in Chittorgarh and Dausa reached 30 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures were 8.2 and 9.4 degrees Celsius, respectively. Udaipur recorded 28.7/10.5 degrees Celsius, Kota 27.9/11.4 degrees Celsius, Barmer 28.4/14.8 degrees Celsius, and Jodhpur 27.2/15.2 degrees Celsius. Bikaner recorded 22.2/12.8 degrees Celsius, Churu 21.6/10.2 degrees Celsius, and Ganganagar 22.3/11.9 degrees Celsius. Data for Mount Abu is not included, but the cold was evident in the northwestern districts.
