A new chapter is going to be added to the history of Jammu and Kashmir on June 6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation an arch bridge, higher than the Eiffel Tower, built on the Chenab River on June 6. The responsibility of protecting this bridge, 359 meters above the bed of the Chenab River, has been entrusted to the country's largest central paramilitary force, the CRPF. CRPF commandos specially trained will be deployed 24 hours to guard this bridge. CRPF 'Quick Action Team' too shall be deployed around the bridge for foolproof security of the same.

It has been constructed as a steel arch bridge, which is over one kilometer long. The height of its arch is 550 meters.
The CRPF personnel will provide security to this bridge 24 hours a day. CRPF personnel will be deployed at all times on the Kauri side and Bakkal side of the Chenab Bridge. Not only this, but the security of all the establishments around this Chenab Rail Bridge, including railway engineering, has also been given to the CRPF. The CRPF personnel will also do regular patrolling. The CRPF QAT has also been deployed to deal with any kind of emergency around the bridge. This QAT of the force will remain as a striking reserve.
CRPF has also been deployed at the buckle end of the Chenab Bridge. The force's personnel will be equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and other technical equipment. To make the security of the bridge foolproof, surveillance will also be done through drones. The personnel will conduct regular patrolling to keep a strict vigil on both ends of the Chenab Bridge and the area around it.
