Cold winds shiver Rajasthan; snow covered fields and vehicles in Sikar and Alwar, breaking records.
Rajasthan News: As the effects of the Western Disturbance subsided, severe cold returned to Rajasthan. Sikar recorded the lowest temperature in the state, with temperatures dropping to 1 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department issued a cold wave alert for four districts today.
As the impact of the Western Disturbance from North India weakened, northern winds again started to make their presence felt in the plains. Due to which winter got intensified in Rajasthan. In Sikar, the minimum temperature was 1 degree Celsius on Thursday, which is the second time this winter that it has gone down to 1 degree Celsius. In Sikar and Alwar, there was a visible layer of snow and dew on the crops. In Alwar, dew settled on dried grass and wood, which became icy. In Abu, the minimum temperature was 2 degrees Celsius, and there was a visible layer of snow on the rooftops of vehicles.
The Meteorological Center, Jaipur, has issued a cold wave warning for the next two days in Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and Nagaur districts. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in the state for the next week, and the cold winds will continue to affect the region.
In the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature was recorded at 2.6 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur (Sikar) and 3.4 degrees Celsius in Nagaur. Furthermore, the minimum temperature was 5.4 degrees Celsius in Lunkaransar, 5.8 degrees Celsius in Churu, 6.8 degrees Celsius in Jhunjhunu and Pali, 6.9 degrees Celsius in Karauli, 7.2 degrees Celsius in Pilani, 8.1 degrees Celsius in Dausa, 8.6 degrees Celsius in Alwar, 8.8 degrees Celsius in Bikaner and Jaisalmer, and 9.3 degrees Celsius in Sirohi. Cold winds in the morning and evening continued to chill the Sikar, Fatehpur, Churu, and Bikaner areas. The maximum daytime temperature also dropped due to the cold winds.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in all cities across the state remained below 30 degrees Celsius. The coldest day was recorded in Sirohi, where the maximum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius. Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 22.3 degrees Celsius, Alwar 22 degrees Celsius, Baran 22.6 degrees Celsius, Karauli 22.7 degrees Celsius, Jhunjhunu 22.8 degrees Celsius, Sriganganagar 23.5 degrees Celsius, Churu 23.6 degrees Celsius, Bikaner and Dausa 23.8 degrees Celsius, Kota 23.3 degrees Celsius, Ajmer 24.3 degrees Celsius, Bhilwara 24.4 degrees Celsius, Nagaur 24.4 degrees Celsius, and Pali 24.9 degrees Celsius.
Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, stated that the cold winds will continue to have a strong impact for the next two days, which could cause a drop in temperatures by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. Even after this, the weather will remain dry for the next week.
