Many people have complained about this issue on the website called Down Detector which tracks internet outages. They mention that their applications were not loading or refreshing as needed. The outage is believed to have started at 7 PM Indian time.
The complaints regarding the internet downtime reported on Down Detector began following 7 PM. According to several reports, the internet downtime on the two social media applications is affecting several countries across the globe. Additionally, several people residing in India have been facing the same issues.
In addition to DownDetector, users are also reporting similar issues with the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Users say Facebook and Instagram aren't loading properly. Some users say the app's content isn't refreshing. Additionally, some users report being unable to log in to Meta's social media platform, and other features aren't working properly.
Interestingly, only a few users are experiencing this issue. Some users report that Meta's social media platform website is working fine. Meanwhile, users are experiencing loading and feed refresh issues with the mobile apps. Reports suggest this issue is caused by Meta's backend system.
