Climate in Rajasthan currently has both the faces. While some areas are enjoying thunderstorms and pre-monsoon showers, some districts in western Rajasthan are experiencing extremely hot days and heat waves. As per the meteorological department, an alert about thunderstorms and rainfall has been issued for seven districts, while a warning about heat waves was issued for five districts.

On Monday, clear sunshine along with humidity levels affected most regions of the state. Although pre-monsoon showers took place, temperatures continued to rise. Sriganganagar witnessed 45.6 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature in Rajasthan as well as in India. Four more cities namely, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Barmer, and Churu experienced 44 to 46 degrees Celsius heat.

However, a different side of the weather was seen in Alwar, where heavy rain in the evening brought relief from the heat. Some other eastern districts also witnessed cloud movement and light rain.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan will remain mainly dry for the next two to three days, and temperatures may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. Heat waves are likely in many places during this period.
