Then watch how moments later one of us breaks down. Watch us pour out the things that are troubling us with such honest vulnerability that you can’t quite believe it’s happening at the dinner table.

Watch us all reach out without thinking until there is a pile of hands in the middle of the table, saying “we are here”.

Watch us cry at each other’s graduations and weddings. Watch us feel each other’s happiness so much that our bodies can’t quite contain it.

Watch how a group message relays stories of love and loss and watch how we all rally in celebration and support. Watch us say “I love you” and mean it.

Watch a whole group of people be there for each other. Be so comfortably themselves with each other that they can go from belly laughing to heartbroken sobbing in a matter of minutes and feel nothing but loved, cared for and comforted. Not embarrassed. Not judged.

Just loved.

Because they know that there will always be sunshine and storms in life. Ups and downs, highs and lows.
