Government in action mode regarding Green Hydrogen, tender issued for setting up 4.5 lakh tonnes production facility

As per the tender document, the total capacity available for bidding is 4.5 lakh tonnes per annum, which includes 4.1 lakh tonnes under technology-agnostic pathways and 40,000 tonnes under biomass-based pathways. The total capacity to be allocated under this tender is 450,000 tonnes per annum of green hydrogen (GH2).
As per the tender document, a bidder, including its parent, subsidiary, ultimate parent company, or any group company, has to submit a single bid for setting up the GH2 production facility.
Under the technology agnostic pathway (Bucket I), the minimum bid capacity will be 10,000 tonnes while the maximum will be 90,000 tonnes.
Under the biomass-based route (Bucket II), the minimum bid capacity would be 500 tonnes while the maximum would be 4,000 tonnes. The maximum time allowed for commissioning (SCD) will be 30 months from the date of the award letter.
The tender was issued on July 10, 2023, and the pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 28, 2023. The hard copies of the bids can be submitted by September 11, 2023, and will be opened on September 12, 2023.
The Union Cabinet has approved the National Green Hydrogen Mission with an outlay of Rs 19,744 crore till 2029-30. The SIGHT program is a major financial measure under the Mission, with an outlay of Rs 17,490 crore.
