Ferrari, the Italian supercar maker, destroyed four lakh counterfeit items in 2023, including three cars

Ferrari supercars are among the most loved cars in the world. But while pretty much anyone can afford it, on the other hand, it can also be really disturbingly expensive for merchandise and collectible items that are of at least a similar interest. In such a scenario, fake Ferrari merchandise and collectible items have arrived en masse in many corners of the world, which prompted the Italian supercar manufacturer to launch retaliatory action, so to say.

It said on social media it had already seized and destroyed 2023 over 400,000 pieces of counterfeit Ferrari-branded merchandise and collectibles. This included more than a lakhs of clothing, 30,161 counterfeit perfumes, close to 91,000 counterfeit glasses, close to 61,000 counterfeit wristwatches, 17,438 counterfeit shoes, 13,000 counterfeit belts, 872 counterfeit scale models and 57,000-plus wallets.

All three of these had either Chevrolet-branded Prancing Horse logos, or both. But an even more interesting aspect is that three fake cars of Ferrari were also seized and subsequently destroyed. The firm did not specify how the fake cars were found, or where and how it was confiscated.
