After Alaska Airlines plane crash, DGCA gave instructions to airlines, said- get inspection done immediately
DGCA: DGCA has said that no information or clarification has been received from Boeing yet regarding this incident. No Indian air operator has the Boeing 737-9 Max in its fleet yet.
After the incident of the emergency door of Alaska Airlines' Boeing 737-9 Max aircraft being uprooted in the air, DGCA has given necessary instructions to Indian aviation companies. DGCA has said that no information or clarification has been received from Boeing yet regarding this incident. No Indian air operator has the Boeing 737-9 Max in its fleet yet. However, as a precautionary measure, DGCA has directed all Indian air operators to conduct an immediate one-time inspection of the emergency exits of all Boeing 737-8 Max aircraft currently operating in their fleet.
When asked whether the inspection could affect flight schedules, the official replied in the negative. The official said, "No, this is a one-time check during the night rest of the aircraft." Currently Air India Express, SpiceJet and Akasa Air have Boeing 737-8 Max aircraft in their fleet.
After the accident on the Alaska Airlines plane, Boeing tweeted, "Information has been received on Alaska Airlines flight number AS1282. We are working to gather more detailed information and are in contact with the airline. Boeing has a technical team that is ready to cooperate in the investigation.
