Assembly Elections 2023: As per the schedule, the Election Commission can announce the election dates in the states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram this month.
The Election Commission may soon announce the assembly elections to be held later this year. The Election Commission has been visiting the states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram for the last 2 months. The Election Commission has been busy preparing for the assembly elections in 5 states for a long time. It is believed that the Commission can announce elections in these states on October 9. Even before the announcement of election dates, all the parties including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and BRS have started campaigning in these states. Leaders of all political parties are holding rapid rallies.
According to the fixed schedule, the Election Commission can announce the election dates in these five states this month. The commission had visited Mizoram and Chhattisgarh in August. After this, visited Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in September. The Election Commission is now touring Telangana this week.
A 17-member delegation led by Chief Election Commission Rajiv Kumar reached Hyderabad in Telangana yesterday to monitor the preparations. The tenure of the 40-member Mizoram Assembly is going to end in December. At the same time, the tenure of the 90-member Chhattisgarh Assembly and three other states is ending in January. Assembly elections are also going to be held soon in Madhya Pradesh with 230 members, Rajasthan (200-member assembly), and Telangana (119-member assembly).
