Amul milk becomes costlier by Rs 3: Gold will be available at Rs 66 a litre and fresh at Rs 54 a litre

Amul has increased the price of milk by Rs 3 per litre. The Gujarat Dairy Co-operative has said that the new prices have come into force with immediate effect. Now Amul Gold costs Rs 66 per litre, Amul Fresh costs Rs 54 per litre, Amul Cow milk costs Rs 56 per litre and Amul A2 Buffalo milk costs Rs 70 per litre. Amul also increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre in October.
Regarding increasing the prices of milk, Amul said, “The price of milk is being increased due to an increase in the overall cost of operation and production. Compared to last year, the cost of the animal feed itself has increased by about 20%. Due to an increase in input cost, our member union has increased the prices of milk procured from farmers by 8-9% as compared to last year.
The price of milk has increased by Rs 12 in the last 10 months. Before this, the price of milk had not increased for about seven years. Milk prices increased by Rs 8 per litre between April 2013 and May 2014. As the production of milk decreases in summer, due to this milk companies have to pay a higher price to the cattle rearers. That's why experts have expressed apprehension about an increase in milk prices in the coming days.
After the increase in the price of Amul milk, Congress took a jibe at BJP's 'Acche Din' slogan. The Congress tweeted and said, 'Amul milk has become costlier by Rs 3. In the last year, the price has increased by Rs.8. The price of Amul Gold in February 2022 was Rs 58 per litre, and in February 2023 Amul Gold became Rs 66 per litre. Good days?'
