80% of equipment used in 5G rollout is Made in India: Ashwini Vaishnav

The 5G rollout is a milestone in technology in India, placing India in the top 3 list. It has been one year since 5G was launched in India, and Jio and Airtel have made a huge contribution in taking it to this new level. With the launch of 5G, they started expanding their services to every corner of India.

IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that 80% of the equipment used in the 5G rollout in India is Made in India. He said this during the India Mobile Congress 2023 which started on October 27. Apart from this, he also said that the telecom equipment being made in India will be sent to 72 countries.

1. The IT Minister has always given priority to the fact that telecom products made in India can compete with the global market in terms of quality.
2. He says that India is at such a level that it is competing with these products at the global level. Also, companies are actively engaged in making such products, so that a better ecosystem can be created.

Country is ahead in making semiconductors:

1. Union Minister Vaishnav said that India is also progressing in semiconductor manufacturing and is becoming a big hub. He also said that India is preparing to make some very complex semiconductors and chips.
2. Apart from this, India is also working on a talent bridge. Let us tell you that 1.20 lakh engineers are designing chips in India.
