7 including a minor arrested for pasting Israeli flag-like posters on the sewerage tank lid at late night; Commotion ensued in morning

During the vigil being kept for the terrorist attack at Pahalgam, posters looking like Israeli flags were pasted on the cover of the sewerage channel tank at Farson Ka Bungalow area of Moti Chowk of the inner city. There were also shoe marks. This enraged the locals of the area. Sadar Bazar police station arrested six youths following a hunt.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Central) Manglesh Chundawat said that there was a gathering of people after the people of the area spotted these posters in the morning. The police themselves also arrived at the site. The people were calmed down by an explanation. The investigation was initiated on the basis of CCTV footage.

Based on the clues received from them, the police arrested Farhan Hussain, Mohammed Arman Khan, Mehmood Ali, Mohammed Faijan, Rahil Khan, and Imran Khan on charges of disturbing peace. They are being questioned. A minor has also been arrested. The accused are being questioned as to why they put up such flags. No FIR has been registered yet.
