Now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is ready for the mini-auction of Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 after the mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This auction will be held in Bengaluru on December 15 and this time all five franchises will have a budget of Rs 15 crore to form the team.

England captain Heather Knight, New Zealand fast bowler Lea Tahuhu, and West Indies all-rounder Driandra Dottin are some big international names in the mini-auction. Among the Indian players, Sneh Rana, leg-spinner Poonam Yadav, and batsman Veda Krishnamurthy will be in focus.

Meg Lanning has led Delhi Capitals (DC) for the last two seasons. Delhi has the lowest budget of Rs 2.5 crore in this mini-auction. Gujarat Giants (GG) have the highest purse of Rs 4.4 crore. Seven players have been released from their team. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), which includes India's vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and New Zealand's T20 World Cup-winning captain Sophie Devine also have released seven players. RCB has Rs 3.25 crore remaining in their budget.

The only transfer that happened in the pre-season trade window in early November was when RCB acquired Danny Wyatt in a cash trade from UP Warriors. Wyatt did not play a single match for UP Warriors, who finished fourth last season. A total of five teams will feature in the third season, which will be played over three weeks between February and March 2025. In 2026 though, the tournament will be held in January-February.
