This time, the south-west monsoon is arriving early. The reason for this is the wind called the Somali Jet, which is pushing the monsoon forward rapidly. According to weather experts, monsoon usually arrives in Rajasthan on June 20, but this time it can reach the state about 15 days earlier i.e. by the first week of June.
Somali Jet is actually a low-level strong wind that blows from Mauritius and Madagascar. These winds move fast, carrying the monsoon. So far, the monsoon has reached Mumbai in Maharashtra, and by the end of May, it can reach central India. Due to this, monsoon is expected to start early in Rajasthan as well.
