Warren Buffett once again changed his will, withdrew from Gates Foundation; now it will get the property
Warren Buffett: Earlier, Buffett had said that more than 99 percent of his wealth would go to four trusts related to his family and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. However, now he has changed his mind.
The world's legendary investor, Warren Buffett, hit the headlines once again. The 93-year-old Buffett hit the headlines as he changed his will. He revealed who would be entitled to his property after his death. According to sources, he said that he did not intend to continue this donation to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; instead, a new charitable trust would be opened by him, which his three children would run.
According to Buffett, their Foundation will not receive any money after he dies. He said in an interview that he has revised his will several times, and it has been revised once more. Now, at his death, his wealth will pass to a new trust, which his three children would manage. All of Buffett's children have their private charitable outfits.
It may be recalled that earlier, Buffett had said that more than 99 percent of his wealth would go to four trusts related to his family and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. As per the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, his net worth is $129 billion, i.e., about ₹1,07,54,00,11,50,000. He ranks as the 10th richest in the world.
Berkshire Hathaway, the company led by Warren Buffett, announced that the billionaire investor is converting around 9000 Class-A shares into more than 1.3 crore Class-B shares. Of these, 93 lakh will be transferred to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The rest will be given to various trusts linked to Buffett's family.
He has given away almost $43 billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation during the past 18 years. Melinda had announced last month that she was separating from this foundation. Buffett had donated $87.0 billion to his family trusts in 2020. Buffett is left with 207,963 Class A and 2,586 Class B shares of Berkshire Hathaway now. These shares are worth approximately $128 billion.
