Hosts UP Yoddhas defeated Telugu Titans 40-34 in the 53rd match of the 11th season of the Pro Kabaddi League played at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Thursday. This is UP's first win after four consecutive defeats, while the Titans could not set the record for their fifth consecutive win.

Apart from Bharat (11) and Bhavani (12), Hitesh (4) and Sumit (3) from defense played an important role in UP's victory. For Titans, Vijay Malik (15) emerged as a hero after Pawan Sehrawat got injured. Titans suffered their fourth defeat in nine matches while UP got their fourth win in the same number of matches. Both teams started cautiously. The score read 3-3 after five minutes as Pawan made two kills on his second raid to make it 5-3.

That was followed by another kill by Pawan, putting UP in a super tackle situation. Bhavani, though, made a super tackle on Pawan to level things up. During this raid, Pawan was injured and went out. Bharat then gave them the lead with a bonus. UP was leading 7-6 after 10 minutes. After the break UP took two points to extend the lead at 9-6, but in Pawan's absence Vijay got four points raid to take the Titans ahead 10-9.

Bharat drew level by taking one point and UP was in danger of an all out. UP failed to avoid this danger and fell back 14-11. Even after the all-in, Titans took two successive points and cut the gap to 5. Bhavani did a multi-point raid at the score of 12-17. Bhavani was, however, caught by Vijay in the next raid.
