Hosts UP Yoddhas defeated Telugu Titans 40-34 in the 53rd match of the 11th season of the Pro Kabaddi League played at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Thursday. This is UP's first win after four consecutive defeats, while the Titans could not set the record for their fifth consecutive win.

Apart from Bharat (11) and Bhavani (12), Hitesh (4) and Sumit (3) from defense played an important role in UP's victory. For Titans, Vijay Malik (15) emerged as a hero after Pawan Sehrawat got injured. Titans suffered their fourth defeat in nine matches while UP got their fourth win in the same number of matches. Both teams started cautiously. The score read 3-3 after five minutes as Pawan made two kills on his second raid to make it 5-3.

That was followed by another kill by Pawan, putting UP in a super tackle situation. Bhavani, though, made a super tackle on Pawan to level things up. During this raid, Pawan was injured and went out. Bharat then gave them the lead with a bonus. UP was leading 7-6 after 10 minutes. After the break UP took two points to extend the lead at 9-6, but in Pawan's absence Vijay got four points raid to take the Titans ahead 10-9.

Bharat drew level by taking one point and UP was in danger of an all out. UP failed to avoid this danger and fell back 14-11. Even after the all-in, Titans took two successive points and cut the gap to 5. Bhavani did a multi-point raid at the score of 12-17. Bhavani was, however, caught by Vijay in the next raid.

Then UP came back into the game again and left the Titans struggling for a super tackle. Krishna did a super tackle on Bharat and forwarded the scoreline of the Titans to 20-16 and also saved the all-out. After the second half, Keshav sent Ankit to the bench once again and placed the Titans in a super tackle position. Then Sumit and Bhavani all out the Titans for the first time and led the UP with 22-21. Post the all-in, UP took three back-to-back points and pulled the lead down to 4. Meanwhile, Vijay got Gangaram out on a do-or-die raid. Then it was Sagar to get Keshav out and make the score 23-25.

Even after, Titans took two consecutive points and made the score 25-25. Now the super tackle was on for UP. Meanwhile, UP got two points, and on Ashish's raid, Titans got one point. Left 10 minutes, UP was on the front with 27-26. After the break, Bhavani did a two-point raid and reduced the gap to 3. UP didn't stop here and led by 5.

Titans were once again in a super tackle situation with Bhavani taking three points on a do-or-die raid and all-outing Titans to put UP ahead 36-27. He completed super-10 as well. Right after that, Vijay too completed super-10 and made a two-point raid, cutting the lead to seven. All his efforts turned to naught, though, as it Titans suffered their first defeat after four wins on the trot. UP tasted victory after four consecutive losses. On the other hand, the Titans got one point from this match.
