A five-day selection competition (trial) for sports academies to be run in the state by the Rajasthan State Sports Council will be organized at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium from May 15 to 19. Chief Sports Officer Virendra Poonia said that during the selection competition, boys and girls players will be selected in basketball, football, archery, hockey, kabaddi, volleyball, wrestling, cycling, athletics, and handball.
In which the selected players will be given admission to sports academies operating in Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Ajmer, Karauli, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Bikaner, and Sriganganagar.
During this, registration of players will be done for basketball and football on May 15, archery, hockey, and kabaddi on May 16, volleyball, wrestling, and cycling on May 17, and athletics and handball on May 18 and 19. On the other hand, sports skills including medical, battery test, and final selection will be done by Rajasthan High-Performance Sports Training Center.
In which the age of the players joining should be a minimum of 14 to a maximum of 18 years in the boys and girls category by 1.07.2023. Whereas in basketball senior category minimum of 18 to a maximum of 20 years should be there. While the maximum age limit for players trained in sports academies run by the Rajasthan State Sports Council has been fixed at 20 years, for basketball a maximum of 23 years based on their results.
Along with this, the player should be a native of Rajasthan as well as unmarried. Who should not be suffering from any kind of serious disease? The players participating in the selection process will have to bear the expenses of travel, accommodation, and food at their own level.
Only national medal-winning players will be given admission to Senior Boys Basketball Academy, Jaipur. It has been made mandatory for the player to be a medalist player of the School Games Federation of India, University Zonal, and Senior National.
Rajasthan State Sports Council President Krishna Poonia said that the players who are finally selected for sports academies will be provided free-of-cost accommodation, food, education, and limited medical facilities by the Rajasthan State Sports Council. Along with this, experts will also be called for better training.
