Tecno has introduced its tri-fold phone; Know details including design
Tecno has launched the Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept tri-fold phone with a dual-hinge mechanism and a 9.94-inch display. This G-style folding design comes with a triple camera setup and a battery larger than 5000mAh. It has been claimed that it is the world's thinnest tri-fold phone; its thickness in the unfolded state is 3.49mm.
Tecno on Thursday launched the Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept tri-fold concept phone. This new phone features an inward-folded dual-hinge design and a 9.94-inch screen in the unfolded mode. The Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept features a G-type folding design and a triple camera module. The tri-fold battery is over 5,000mAh. Tecno's tri-fold smartphone will be just a concept phone at this point in time. The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate is the only tri-fold phone that has been available for purchase in the world.
The Transsion Holdings subsidiary has not announced the commercial availability of its first tri-fold smartphone. The Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept has been confirmed to be showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026.
The Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept has a foldable screen divided into three parts, just like Samsung's rumoured tri-fold smartphone. It has a G-style folding design. Its larger inner screen folds inwards in two steps, and Tecno says that this design protects the screen from scratches and damage in the folded state. The secondary cover display acts like a normal smartphone screen.

It has a custom-designed dual-hinge system, with a small waterdrop hinge and a larger primary hinge. In the folded state, the smaller hinge allows the right side of the screen to fold inwards, like in a book-style foldable. The larger hinge then folds the rest of the screen over it. The Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept has a self-locking system that keeps the device gapless and secure in the folded state.
The main display of the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept measures 9.94-inches in the unfolded state. The larger hinge supports a custom dual-cam setup that allows multi-angle hovering, meaning users can keep it open at different angles. This also allows the device to work in a partially folded state.
The thickness of the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept is 11.49mm in the folded state. It is 3.49mm in the unfolded state and Tecno claims that this makes it the world's thinnest tri-fold smartphone. In comparison, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design has 3.6mm when unfolded.
The chipset of the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept is yet to be revealed by the brand. It is said to have a 'high-performance chipset'. It has a triple-camera setup. The battery capacity is confirmed to be more than 5,000mAh. The hinge of the phone is made of 2000MPa steel and the back cover is made of Titan fiber. The Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept has several AI-based features and also has Tecno's in-house AI assistant, Ella.
