Vivo Vision Explorer Edition, the initial mixed reality (MR) headset by the company, was launched in China on Thursday. As a rival to Apple Vision Pro, this product boasts dual 8K high-res Micro-OLED displays and includes Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset. Powered by OriginOS Vision, this headset has a big front visor and cushioned rear headband, which keeps it in place when put on. Vivo Vision Explorer Edition supports eye tracking as well as micro-gesture control.

The Chinese technology company has not revealed pricing and release details for the Vivo Vision headset as yet, but the headset is already preorderable at 12 authorized Vivo Experience Stores in China. The company has also assured that additional experience stores will be rolled out shortly to increase availability.

The Vivo Vision Explorer Edition is equipped with dual binocular 8K (3,552×3,840 pixels) Micro-OLED displays with 94 percent coverage of the P3 colour gamut and support for 100 to 1000 degrees. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip. The MR headset uses Vivo's custom Blue Ocean power management system. The headset runs on OriginOS Vision, which is Vivo's in-house operating system optimised for MR and offers ultra-low latency of 13ms.
