After all kinds of complaints from users, Mozilla has admitted that it welcomes people's input. Mozilla is a non-profit organization. It has updated its new terms of use. Actually, last week Mozilla introduced new terms of use for Firefox, in which some such words were inserted which created the impression that the company is acquiring broad ownership rights over the users' data, i.e. users' data is being accessed.

The first version of these terms said: “When you upload or input information through Firefox, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use your information to help you navigate, experience, and interact with online content through Firefox.”

The statement was met with strong criticism from users on social media, which increased pressure on the company. Now this controversial clause has been removed from the new Terms of Use and replaced with additional clarification.

The revised terms now say, “You grant Mozilla the rights necessary to operate Firefox, including saving your data as described in the Firefox Privacy Notice. You also grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use the content you enter into Firefox in the way you wish. This does not give Mozilla ownership of that content.”
